Paint Creek Center for the Arts - Regional Arts & Culture Awards
I/ACT honored with the City of Troy Mayor's Award ! Thursday March 24th
The Paint Creek Center for the Arts has organized a Regional Arts & Culture Award program. The mayors for eight municipalities (Auburn Hills, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Twp, Orion Twp, Shelby Twp, Washington Twp and Troy) have selected an individual or organization to receive this first annual award.
Event Date: Thursday, March 24, 2011 Time: Social Hour Starting at 6PM
Location: Royal Park Hotel - 600 E University Drive Rochester Michigan

Leon and Lulu's 5th birthday party is Friday, April 1st!
To celebrate, they are holding a "Let Them Eat Cake" baking extravaganza with a twist. Contestants will be challenged to create delicious desserts that also meet diabetic standards. There is no cost to enter or attend. Click here

The event is still in the planning process and there will be a charge. Mary Liz Curtin and two additional prestigious local art retailers will offer their expertise about how to successfully and professionally sell your creations. Artsy refreshments and tasty snacks will be served. Mary Liz Curtin, the owner of Leon and Lulu's is a nationally recognized speaker on retail sales and marketing. She is also a great supporter of the arts and artists!

Schedule: 8am-4pm on April 6 and 8am-5pm on April 7th. However, more parties and events are scheduled until late each evening - check their website for details. The event is being put together in conjunction with the inaugural Art X Detroit Festival
which celebrates artistic excellence and Detroit's creative spirit. The midtown event runs from April 6 - 10th
and features Kresge Fellowship winners from visual, literary and performing arts.

Paint A Miracle's Sixth Annual Spring Luncheon
Wednesday, May 18th 11:30 to 1PM
Location: Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester
This organization began operation in 2002 and now maintains a gallery in downtown Rochester. They specialize in helping people with disabilities develop their artistic potential. Larry has so many things going - he has his own section this month.
TWO of his artworks were selected for the Michigan Fine Arts Competition
The event will be held at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center
and the opening is on Friday April 1st from 6 to 8pm
. BBAC has assembled a comprehensive webpage
showing most of the selected artworks.
Larry is also an expert on the Lone Ranger old time radio show and its connection to Detroit history. On Sunday April 10th at 2pm
at the Lorenzo Cultural Center
of Macomb College, Larry will be giving a presentation about the Lone Ranger and the actors who portrayed the masked man.
Larry's TV show "Marketing Your Art - the Power of Friends - Part Two
