Stunning Chair Transformation

Meet :
TULULA OF TROY
(For a real treat - click for bigger image! )
Zabel Belian and Linda Shears really let their creativity flow with this amazing transformation of a courthouse chair. They invested over 50 hours in bringing this chair to life.
They added a wooden head, gloves, leopard glasses, shiny shoes, zany socks, silk scarves, earrings, a wig and much more. The detailed paint decoration is amazing and was inspired by earlier works created by Zabel, in addition to the fanciful chair characters from Linda's book designs. James Homer Brown helped with the sanding, priming and final assembly which took all of them over four hours.
The chair will be presented to the Troy City Council on Monday by I/ACT members. After that, Councilwoman Mary Kerwin will deliver the chair to the Michigan Municipal League convention in Grand Rapids. It will be on display at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in affiliation with Artprize activities and ultimately be auctioned for a charity the promotes art for children.
More news about Tulula will appear in future newsletter updates.
