After the meeting, Zabel Belian will is offering a gallery tour of the current Edgar Chahine exhibit. She will also treat us to a viewing of her pottery art creations located on the second floor of the gallery! She offers an amazing number of beautiful, signed items including distinctive tableware that is available for sale at affordable prices!
There is no charge at attend. Meetings are open to anyone interested in promoting arts and culture in Troy. Artists are encouraged to bring work samples for discussion. Our website is TroyArts.org.

The internationally acclaimed Langsford Men's Chorus will be giving two performances of "A Christmas Celebration".
Langsford is a world class choral ensemble with over 60 members including I/ACT Board member Larry Keisling who has also participated in their international competitions. Samples of the group's many performances can viewed on their website.
Ticket prices are $15 at the door - but only $12 if your order directly from Larry. Call him at 248-879-9104 to order your tickets.

I/ACT Artists at Leon and Lulu's
Leon and Lulu Artist Market: Sun Nov 27th and Tues Nov 29.
Six of our I/ACT artists will have works on sale. Cynthia Buchanan has painted windows and button accessories. Mardi Chapman creates beautiful computer enhanced images. Janna Bissett is very active in the arts community and recently had a nice write up in the Detroit News. Anne Marie Curley creates hand painted silk scarves. Patrice Pannill and Jan Vettraino both create amazing jewelry.
Leon and Lulu is also expanding and recently purchased the Clawson Theater building.

Anne Kuffler from the Ariana Gallery spoke at our June Art Marketing Seminar. She is a big supporter of the arts community. In addition to art, her store offers jewelry, ceramics, free trade clothing, and designer glass. She also promotes "Trashformations" art made from recycled products.

She has also supplied art and creative props to the TV and movie industries including some episodes of "Detroit 187". Mitch Albom's movie "Have a Little Faith" which was made locally and premiers on ABC this Sunday, Nov 27th at 9PM utilized art pieces from her store including a large black and white abstract painting by James Homer Brown.
The gallery is located near the new Royal Oak Emagine Theater and there is free parking behind the building on Sundays.

The Potter's Market - Madison Hts
The Potter's Market is presented by advanced ceramics students of Oakland Community College - Royal Oak. It is the largest sale of its kind in the country. I/ACT member and meeting host Zabel Belian will be displaying her signature pottery creations, serving pieces, and holiday ornaments. Over 130 exhibitors will fill the 12,000 square foot location.

Curbed.com Adds Detroit to it Lineup!
Curbed.com recently added Detroit to its listings. Their "About Us" page says that "Curbed's city sites breathe life into real estate and neighborhood news with witty and insightful coverage of the country's most vibrant urban centers." Their article titled "Foget Rock City and Motor City - It's Art City Now" provides nice insight about changing views of our area.

New Member - Fancy Home Interiors & Decorating
Sarah from Fancy Home Interiors & Decorating (formerly Fancy Color) recently joined I/ACT and might be able to host a future meeting.
She recently moved across the street and is now in the mall at the SE corner of Wattles & Rochester Rd (near Mr. B's) .
They are currently sponsoring a Toys for Tots program and offering a $5 coupon off $25 in the store for anyone that brings in a new unwrapped toy. Program runs until December 19th. |
Firebrick Gallery & Pottery Studio
As always, Christine Laikind, Troy resident and owner of Firebrick has many art activites planned. The current exhibit "Barns of Michigan" runs through November 30th.
Some of the 2012 "Call for Entries" include an Art Swap, Masks, a Juried Teapot Exhbit, Glass Swap, Ceramic Swap and Deck Art.
Firebrick is located at 404 S Main Street in Rochester. Free Parking behind the building (map).
